Through my most recent years of growing up, I have become more appreciative of the things I may have taken for granted. Take drinking water, for example. 1.1 billon people in the world do not have access to clean drinking water, which consequently accounts for 2.2 million deaths annually. We often forget how lucky we are, after all, turning a tap requires little effort – and for that, we should be grateful. Anyway, moving on - I recently stumbled upon LifeStraw, an awesome device that filters contaminated water, thus providing the user with clean drinking water. Although LifeStraw is a relatively old invention, it has and continues to save lives across many developing countries. More on the reverse.
