Ever since they were seen on the catwalks of Chanel, Prada and Marc Jacobs, flatform shoes have been big news in the fashion world. Although I was personally never a huge fan of the flatform brogues and trainers which were seen everywhere last season, I love the summer sandal versions, which are appearing all over the high street! I think they are an ideal alternative to heels in the warmer months; they can be worn at any time, with pretty dresses or even simple denim shorts. Moreover,  they are so easy to walk in, giving you extra height without the pain – trust me, your feet will be thanking you! Here are some of my favourites:

River Island - £35

I like the fact that these faux suede sandals are quite low compared to the others (the heel height is only 7cm). Because they are one block colour, I think these would be quite easy to dress up and wear in the evening.

ASOS - £50

The ‘VIPER’ peep- toe flatforms from the ASOS collection feature a green canvas upper and woven raffia effect sole. A more casual option, these sandals also come in lovely polka dot and grey/snakeskin variations.

Topshop - £50

They are rose gold, they are metallic; tell me what there is not to love about these shoes! The thick shiny straps vaguely remind me of some of those ‘Spice Girl’ shoes people used to wear in the 90’s, but in a very good way. They are inexpensive, but  considering I’m a student I will be saving up for these – just heartbreaking, isn’t it?

Topshop - £55

Another Topshop offering, this time in peach glitter! These have a slightly more square toe, and beautiful finishing details like the studs and the black rim around the top of the wooden sole – oh, and did I mention they are in peach glitter!?

KG by Kurt Geiger - £89

These are just beautiful! I do believe that one can never go wrong with orange suede. The cork effect soles are finished with a white stitching along the top. If you like these shoes you better hurry, as the £89 is a reduction from £130, so I assume they are flying off the shelves!

Zara - £69.99

I love these shoes! Though, I’m maybe being a little biased seeing as I do actually own them. They come in a neutral beige colour which makes them versatile, and have a subtle stud detail where the straps meet the wood. They are a little heavy due to the solid wood soles, but the soft leather straps make them very comfortable.
