When we first started brainstorming ideas for LIMITLESS, one thing that we unanimously agreed on was that we wanted to create a platform for up-and-coming talent, and I’m not just talking about recording artists. And so, it’s with great pleasure that we announce “One to Watch”, a brand new series dedicated to fulfilling our promise. Kicking things off is Eric Kolelas, an actor slash director slash writer from London. Take it away Eric!

Hi, I’m Eric Kolelas, an actor as well as a filmmaker. In the few short years that I have been acting, I have appeared in idents, adverts and have landed a handful of small roles on TV. However, I have always had my eye on more significant drama based film and television work. That said, auditioning for such roles can be rather complex. The door for these coveted parts of well-rounded, interesting and engaging characters within film and television is a tough one to open, especially when you’re an unestablished “nobody”, so to speak…

So, stubborn as a mule, I decided that if nobody would give me an opportunity, I would create my own. I went ahead and wrote a short script, which would have one of these non-typecast and complex characters I longed for. I proceeded to produce and direct the film, as well as playing the lead.  The result: Fifty Pence, a short film, 13 minutes long, which has already gained the attention of several film festivals. Being an actor, you can spend a lot of time waiting for agents to call, for castings directors to make a decision, for productions to confirm dates etc. But as one of my acting coaches, Simon Furness of Actors Temple, once mentioned to me: “Acting is doing!”
